Historically, the 1947 Indian partition was the product of an outmoded TWO NATION THEORY, but in fact, politicians on both sides sought to achieve the partition based on religion in order to acquire power in their respective geographical districts. 1931’s census report of India is reflecting the ratios in population of India were around 22%, 68% and 1.2% of Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs respectively.
Regretfully, the two-nation idea was implemented under religious pretexts, with horrifying and violent outcomes. The greatest and bloodiest migration between two nations in history occurred as a result of the establishment of India and Pakistan.
The holocaust of 1947 completely changed India and Pakistan’s social and political institutions. People who had lived together for centuries became opponents of one another. According to a foreign study around 7.3 million people migrated to India from Pakistan and on the other hand around 7.2 million migrated to Pakistan (both east and west), and around 3.4 million people were missing. 12,60,000 and 8,40,000 people were killed while migrating correspondingly from India to Pakistan and Pakistan to India. The general public of both sides experienced the terrible consequences of two nation theory but the power elite remained more or less harmless.
Relatively the contemporary two nation theory practicing in Pakistan is more horrifying and outrageous. Unfortunately, right after the creation of Pakistan, certain classes, landlords, and establishment took Pakistan in their hefty clutches. This usurping occupation divided the Pakistan into two classes (lord and slave), which gave rise to a new version of exploitative and manipulative two nation theory. Since partition around 30 families are ruling over the 280 million people, in them 30% people having monthly income around RS. 8500 are living below the poverty line. In Pakistan number of Govt. hospitals is around 1300 and educational institutes is around 313,000 but ruling elite does not like to get treatment or study here, their next generation is studying in Europe and USA etc. even accomplishing medical treatment from abroad when sick. They have their properties and businesses abroad and only came to Pakistan to rule or enjoy the power. Sindh and Punjab’s regimes are its worst models. Ruling elite considers itself super natural entities, common man does not have access to the ruler class, even solving the issues and problems of a lay man is not the priority of ruling elite. Their objective is only to enjoy the supremacy, flourish the personal businesses and further follow the peculiar gains. Laws are for the poor, powerful class is not supposed to follow the existing laws. Constitution of Pakistan is just piece of paper and to amend according to their respective desires. The present Govt. is the nastiest example of such scenario. Political, religious and financial chaos have been devastated the system of the Country. The judicial system is facing the immense loss and has been hijacked by the power/political elite and establishment. Access to the justice for the common man is non-existent, while the powerful class is getting decisions from the courts according to their own. Middle class is vanished, only the elite and poor classes exist.
Pakistan is currently practising the worst aspects of the Pakistani two-nation idea. Pakistan has both elite and suppressed classes, but their coexistence is impossible. The nation is fed up with the excesses of ordinary individuals; consciousness is now at the doorsteps of Pakistanis; a gradually awakening and educated Pakistani nation is emerging; indeed, revolution is on the horizon. The ruler strata is required to comprehend the situation; else, the conscious and aware strata will lead them wrong.
